Photo Gallery: NASCAR Hall of Fame Induction

Filed under: Dale Earnhardt Jr. , NASCAR Awards CHARLOTTE, N.C. — The first induction ceremony for the NASCAR Hall of Fame here Sunday was a memorable, emotion-filled affair as Richard Petty, Dale Earnhardt, Junior Johnson, Bill France Sr. and Bill France Jr. were installed as the first members of the hall. At least 1,000 members of the NASCAR community, including drivers, owners, media and hundreds of fans, attended the solemn two-hour, 40 minute ceremony at the Charlotte Convention Center. The first induction ceremony came 12 days after the opening of the spectacular new Hall of Fame museum in downtown Charlotte following five years of planning and construction. FanHouse was on the scene Sunday and here’s a gallery of photos from the ceremony. Banners for the five inductees hang on the outside of the NASCAR Hall of Fame.
