Tigers’ Cabrera: I’m Not an Alcoholic, but ‘I Asked for Help’

March 1st, 2010 | Tags: , , , ,

Filed under: Tigers , Spring Training LAKELAND, Fla. — Miguel Cabrera says he doesn’t have a problem with alcohol. He was concerned enough about his alcohol intake, however, that he spent much of the offseason in a treatment program and meeting with a counselor. “I’m comfortable talking about everything, because I think you can’t hide it,” Cabrera said Monday before the Tigers worked out. “Someday it’s going to come out.” Cabrera’s problem with alcohol came to the surface at the end of the 2009 season, and he decided that enough was enough, spending three months as an out-patient in the treatment program and counseling. ?
